The Trinomial Cube is a concrete epresentation of the algebraic formula a+b+c)3.

The factors of the equation are epresented by the cubes and prisms. The
elementary Montessori child uses the rinomial Cube as an activity of algebraic exploration.
The Trinomial Cube is contained in a wooden box with lid, having two adjacent hinged sides that open out to display the 27 wooden component cubes and prisms painted red, blue, yellow and black.

Presentation 1

  1. Invite the child to the lesson. Show him where the work is on the shelf, and name the work. Take the Trinomial Cube box to a table.

Control of Error

  • The diagrams on the sides of the box remind the child of the pattern that each level of the blocks should make.
  • The blocks will not fit back in the box unless the cube in constructed correctly.
